Hi, I’m Lisa and own Barguse with my long-suffering husband Alistair!
I am a UKCC accredited coach & NLP accredited practitioner.
I love coaching all levels of riders from private horse owners to novice riders.
I am responsible for overseeing & developing the junior coaching programme which I get great enjoyment from and I am also the allocated child welfare & liaison officer.

Eden started at Barguse as a Level 3 apprentice. Having studied at Duchy College for her Level 3 apprenticeship, she successfully passed this Summer & won the Rising Star Apprentice of the Year Land Based award! Now a fully fledged staff member of Barguse, Eden is responsible for overseeing the yard, assisting the coaches and helping the other apprentices with their portfolio work and evidence collection. When she is not backing the young horses, she can be found schooling the Centre horses and loves nothing more than being able to go for a hack or a quick whizz along the beach!!
I’m Vicky and I have been riding and helping out here at Barguse since 2012.
I had to take a break from riding to look after my disabled husband in 2007 but thanks to Lisa and everybody at Barguse I rediscovered my love of horses.
I’m in charge of our Pony Club, helping our members to earn their achievement badges, planning for tests and exams, and making sure our annual camps run smoothly.
I was the Sportivate participant of year for 2014, completing a Sportivate course with Barguse, I am hoping to gain my UKCC level 2 qualification soon.
I have a particular interest in working with clients with additional needs and I am very excited that Barguse is an RDA accessibility mark centre.
My background is in special needs care, and I have previous experience working with clients with both physical and learning disabilities.
I sign Makaton, and I am trying to add to my BSL knowledege as I go.
Outside of riding I am obsessed with all things Disney, and my favourite place to be (apart from Barguse of course) is Walt Disney World in Florida.
Instructors
In addition to the above staff, we have other BHS and UKCC qualified instructors that help deliver sessions throughout the week so our customers can take advantage of a varied lesson, as well as visiting coaches who run a variety of clinics.
